Verlängerung der Publikationsfrist / Extension of the Publication Deadline
Nach § 16 Abs. 1 der Promotionsordnung muss die Dissertation nach bestandener Promotionsprüfung (Tag der Disputation) innerhalb eines Jahres der wissenschaftlichen Öffentlichkeit in angemessener Weise zugänglich gemacht werden. Regelungen zur Art und Weise der Veröffentlichung entnehmen Sie bitte folgenden Hinweisen.
Die Promotionsordnung sieht in besonderen Fällen eine Verlängerung der Publikationsfrist auf bis zu drei Jahre nach bestandener Promotionsprüfung vor.
Die Voraussetzungen sind:
Einen formlosen Antrag mit aktueller Wohnanschrift in dem aussagekräftig begründet wird, warum sich die Publikation verzögert und wann die Publikation voraussichtlich geschehen wird.
Der Antrag ist im Promotionsportal unter „Meine Anträge“ > „Publikation“ > „Anträge“ hochzuladen.
Die Publikationsfrist wird bei Erfüllung der oben genannten Voraussetzungen erstmalig um ein Jahr verlängert. Ein letztmaliger Antrag auf Verlängerung der Publikationsfrist ist unter den oben genannten Voraussetzungen möglich.
- Wird die Dissertation innerhalb von drei Jahren nicht ordnungsgemäß veröffentlicht erlöschen die durch die Promotionsprüfung erworbenen Rechte.
- Erst nach ordnungsgemäßer Publikation wird die Doktorurkunde erstellt und ausgehändigt. Ausschließlich die Doktorurkunde berechtigt zur dauerhaften Führung des akademischen Grades eines Doktors der Philosophie "Dr. phil." (doctor philosophiae).
Extension of the Publication Deadline
According to § 16 (1) of the doctoral degree regulations the dissertation must be published in an adequate way within one year after passing the doctoral examination (day of disputation). For regulations on the way of publication, please refer to the following notes.
In special cases, the doctoral degree regulations provide for an extension of the publication deadline to up to three years after passing the doctoral examination.
The conditions are:
An informal application with a current home address stating the reasons why the publication will be delayed and when the publication is expected to take place.
The application must be uploaded in the doctoral portal under "My applications" > "Publication" > “Applications”.
The publication deadline will be extended by one year for the first time if the above requirements are fulfilled. A second application for an extension of the publication deadline is possible under the abovementioned conditions.
Special notes:
- If the dissertation is not properly published within three years, the rights acquired through the doctoral examination will expire.
- Only after proper publication the doctoral diploma will be issued and handed over. Only the doctoral diploma entitles the holder to the permanent academic degree of a doctor of philosophy "Dr. phil. (doctor philosophiae).
